- Gather evidence: screenshots, transaction IDs, chat logs
- Note the scammer's details: phone, UPI ID, website
- File complaint at cybercrime.gov.in within 24 hours
- Get acknowledgment number and follow up regularly
- File an FIR at your local police station if needed
2 Contact Your Bank
Report the fraud to your bank immediately. Request a transaction reversal within 24-48 hours of the fraud for best chance of recovery.
Time is critical: Banks can often reverse or freeze fraudulent transactions if reported within 24 hours.
